Recycle your electricals

Many of us will have found a brand new smart phone, laptop or digital radio at the bottom of our stocking this Christmas.

UK consumers were predicted to spend more than £7 billion on electrical goods in the run up to this festive season.

But do you know what to do with your old equipment – particularly when it’s as big and cumbersome as a television, for example?

Valuable materials

Many electrical items contain valuable plastics and metals which can be recycled and reused in new products.

We’ve put together a video guide which gives you information and advice on ways you can recycle your old electronic goods.

It tells how you can safely dispose of your old TVs and computers, as well as schemes where you can exchange your mobile phones for money.
