Charges
Sometimes, phone charges can be difficult to understand. See if the articles below can help.
Call costs
The price you pay for a call is set by your service provider. However, certain number ranges often provide an indication of whether a charge will be cheap or expensive
Roaming
‘Roaming’ is simply mobile jargon for using your mobile phone while you’re abroad. When you do, different charges apply because you’re using the international network.
Rental charges
When you sign up for a fixed line phone, your charges come in two main parts. There are the charges for your calls/services you use. And there’s a line rental charge (which you normally pay in advance) which is needed to maintain the telephone network which is providing your service.
Sim-unlocking charges
When you take out a new service with a mobile provider, you may find your handset has been ‘locked’ so that it will only work on that network.
Anything else?
If your query is not in the list above, see if it’s in one of the other areas. For example, some issues can fall between both billing and charges.
