Unsolicited text messages
With texting being so popular, some companies see this as an ideal way to advertise directly to you.
However, you may find this frustrating and intrusive.
Unlike general telesales calls, you can’t contact a central register to opt out of unsolicited text messages.
However, if you ask the company sending the texts to remove you from their database, they should arrange this.
If they don’t, and you continue receiving messages, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office which enforces privacy regulations.
